The Next steps !!!

Literally, the cab steps are being assembled at TLW, and the brackets have been fixed to the rear of the main frames where the steps will be eventually be fitted. There are a lot of things to be assembled in this area and it is good to see tangible progress being made towards a complete set of frames. TLW have agreed a schedule of work which should see the running plate assembled from the cab right through to where the extension frames are fitted. This should be completed by the end of June. At that point we will be looking at the fitting of the extension frames.

In the picture below the steps are temporarily fixed in position ready for riveting up. The top of the step frame ends where the drop from the cab comes down from the running plate. The angles for this are on the floor bottom left of the picture. In the earlier Counties there would have been a third step above the ones we have here.
